I've been lost.
Let me explain. I am planning on making my daddy a quilt for Christmas. He likes earth tones and blues. Of course I want it to be special. Truth be told, I want it to be perfect. The pressure I put on myself got me totally stuck. For days I didn't touch my sewing machine. I just stood and stared at my fabric in my closet. I second guess myself a lot. Can anyone relate?
Today, I made a decision and I am just going to go for it. I am going to go with my first idea which was to use a Turning Twenty pattern. Here are the fabrics I have pulled to use. If I hate it, for some reason, I can always make something else, right?

It is always easier to make something for ourselves or our home. I too have stressed over making a quilt for family or friends. Though I can see the mistakes or the 'ugliness' due to it not being my colors, the one receiving the quilt always loves it.

I agree with everyone else. It is going to be beautiful! I like that pattern & think your fabric choices are wonderful! Your dad is going to love it. But, I understand how you feel; our perfectionistic ways can be paralyzing at times. Press on; you'll be glad you did. Can't wait to see it!

HA! I know the feeling. I am making my husband a blazing star quilt for his 40th. As if the fabric choices weren't hard enough (I absolutely hate one of them), the pattern I am using gave the wrong directions! I had to redo my first 14 hours of work because the strips were too short to be cut into 8 pieces! Finally, when I had redone that and began sewing the points of the star together the colors were "shining" (outward, like when a child draws a sun) rather than "radiating" (like pond ripples). Nice! LOL. I am making it that way anyway....
