Last Spring, I was contacted by the Robert Kaufman company asking if I would be willing to share a quilt I designed with them so they could make a kit to sell on Craftsy. Of course I said YES!! 

The back story, In January of 2014, I participated in a blog hop organized by Madame Samm called, Wake Up to Kona Solids. If you look in my sidebar, the most popular post on my blog was from that blog hop. It was that quilt that caught the eye of the Robert Kaufman people. 

If you follow me on Instagram, this picture was posted in August when I was knee deep in trimming the half square triangles for the quilt they asked me to make for them and to test the pattern they wrote for it. 

After I finished the top, I sent it to their long arm quilter to have it quilted and photographed. I am still pinching myself! Aren't the photos amazing!!?

No, I am not famous and I never will be, but I am honored to have a quilt I designed featured on Craftsy and for a day or two, I think I will walk on air. =)

Hasn't this been an amazing blog hop so far? I have been so inspired by all the talent and creativity that has been showcased so far. How about you? =) 

When Madame Samm announced a Kona solid blog hop, I was all over this one! I have had in my stash this lovely bright pallet Kona jelly roll for several months all I needed was a reason to use it. =)

I decided to jump in with both feet and go all out with this one and mass produce half square triangles using the tutorial by Carole @ Quilting Adventures A total of 44  2 ½" strips (3 colors from my stash of Kona I had that were not included in the jelly roll) were paired with 2 ½" strips of Kona snow. 

They are so pretty!

I made a makeshift design wall using my portable craft table leaning against my window with a piece of cotton batting. My hubby and I played with them until we decided on this pattern. I  love that he is interested in my hobby and fully supports it. =) 

Again, the riot of color was so pretty, I had to take more pictures. Trust me, I have tons more pictures, but I restrained myself from showing them all. 

Quilting in progress....

How many half square triangles do you see?? 784! I can't remember now how many I had made in total. 

I really love it!!!

The quilt measures 64 ½" x 64 ½". A nice lap size for cuddling with.  

Simple straight line quilting...

And the back...All in Kona solids with 4 orphan blocks.

With the leftover half square triangles, I made a quilted pillow cover using Lynne's tutorial. It is my favorite way to make pillow covers.
