Turning Points Pillow - A Shop Sample

October 8, 2018

This weekend I made a pillow using this pattern. 😀 It's a paper pieced pattern, but very simple so don't let that intimidate you.

I chose a charm pack of Grunge Stars for the triangles and a natural linen and cotton for the background.

I messed up on the first quadrant by not reversing the colors. I forgot paper piecing turns things backward. Oh, well!😉

Halfway done!

All quilted!

All finished! The blog where the tutorial was shared on how to make a Quilted Zipper Pillow Cover no longer exists, but I had a copy that I placed on Dropbox. Let me know if the link works for you.

One of these days I'll share my progress on the Free Wheeling Single Girl quilt. Sewing curves is a first for me!

What have you been working on?

Lambkin Pillow

March 20, 2017

Have you seen the new spring quilt patterns by Nadra Ridgeway @ Ellis and Higgs?

All of her patterns are seriously cute and I am quickly becoming a fan, however these two have won my heart!

I HAD to have the lamb pattern, of course, and now my couch has one more new pillow. =)

I think I need to make a lamb mini quilt someday! =)

Happy Spring!!

Cotton + Steel projects

February 22, 2017

I recently received some Cotton + Steel fabrics, which meant I got to play with it and make a sample. =)

I love the back!! The selvedge was so cute I kept it on.

I was on a roll, so I dug into my stash and made another pillow cover for the couch. The picnic basket fabric is so cute! Being a larger print, I didn't want to cut it up so it is perfect for a pillow!

And one more small project using the make up print from the Jubilee line by Melody Miller. The bag pattern is a free tutorial by Lori Holt which can be found here: Quilty Zip Bag. I have no idea what I will use it for. I needed a quick small project that I could get done in a day. Zipper bags fit that need nicely. I need to make a boxy bag using this print to use for my make up. =)

What quick projects do you like to make?

Have a happy Wednesday!!

Quilted Pillow Covers

May 23, 2016

My couch pillow covers were looking dingy and ugly. It was long overdue time to get some new ones made. I used this easy pattern

Now that I am on a roll, the rest of them are going to get new covers, too. I do need more zippers, however I can get the panels made while I wait for my order from  Zipit to arrive.

Have a happy Monday!!

Painting is done!

October 29, 2013

The painting is done!

Before...

After...

This is the best wall we have to hang quilts on. Making the decision on how to hang them up has been the hardest part of this process. I think I have settled on the curtain rods with the clips like I am using for the window curtains. ~ Speaking of which, I am not sold on the curtains that I am using at this time, but they are better than nothing. ~ I am going to run out and look for a rod today. =)

What I am super excited about are my new pillows!

This one is my favorite! I used the house and tree pattern from Lori Holt's new book Quilty Fun. Isn't it a happy pillow? =)

I decided to not make the throw pillows matchy matchy. I plan on making several covers for each of them so I can change them out as the whim strikes or even with the seasons.

I have a few more pillows to make new covers for. =) But first, I want to get a quilt on the wall!

Have a happy Tuesday, everyone!!
