My dear friend Judy found this great vintage fabric at the thrift store and bought it for me.
You read that right! Five whole yards!! It measures 35 inches across, but still...
Isn't it pretty?

Yes, that certainly is pretty! I think my mom had some sheets like that.
ReplyDelete47 cents per yard...oh those were the days. Not that I remember 47 cents per yard, just sayin'. Hehehe. Beautiful fabric.

Lovely! I think it is interesting how sewing has gone from what the poor person did to now a very expensive hobby. This is quite the find! Tis the season for yard sales and flea markets!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric! I agree with Amanda. I remember my mom sewing my clothes because it was so much less expensive. Then in college I sewed most of my clothing because I needed the money for school expenses.
ReplyDeleteOh, it is gorgeous!! Can't wait to see what you do with it!! ;) ox Heather
ReplyDeletenice!
ReplyDeleteWow it's beautiful! Great find. Great friend!
ReplyDeleteI do remember 47 cents per yard; I remember 35 inch wide too. I'm pretty sure I was still buying quite a bit of narrow fabric in the late 60s and early 70s.
ReplyDeleteThis piece is absolutely gorgeous. Hooray for your friend for picking it up for you and hooray for you for having such a great friend!
That's right up my alley! I love little roses
ReplyDeleteWow, what a Find!!!
ReplyDeleteCan Judy be my friend too? LOL!
Can't wait to see what you do with it!
So lovely! I think I would find it hard to cut into but it deserves to become a lovely something. Cant wait to see what it will become.
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is very 'you'! Sweet of her.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric they would make lovely pillowcases with a beautiful crocheted edge.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely piece and what a find...nice friend to think of you too.
ReplyDeleteNow, what will you use it for...backing or lots of quilts???
