Systematic Theology

November 3, 2009

What is systematic theology? Why is it important? Where can I learn systematic theology?

Easy!! Drive By Theology! Todd Friel and R.W. Glenn teach 48 sixteen minute lectures that will give you a greater appreciation for the soundness of Scripture and provide a rock solid theological foundation.

Gotta run. I have some sewing to do and I want to learn more about the doctrine of Scripture.

Early Christmas for me...Cause I am spoiled

Hubz bought me the new Apple Magic Mouse last night. It's amazing! My only complaint was the tracking wasn't fast enough, but never fear, just a wee bit of searching on the Apple Discussions produced a link to Mouse Zoom and all is well. No more dusty track balls to clean! Yeah!

It still works

November 1, 2009

Russ was cleaning out his sock drawer this morning and found a can of mace he bought a long time ago. In fact, so long ago that it expired 10 years ago. Being the manly man that he is, he sprayed it into the bedroom, just to see if its still effective. Those of us downstairs are also experiencing the effects, so its safe to say it is...*cough cough*

“Do I have the same infectious passion for God’s Word?”

Do I have the same infectious passion for God’s Word?

This is the question at the end of today's girltalk post titled Mary Jones' Bible. After reading about Mary Jones and her Bible, how would you answer that question...

"Adopted For Life" giveaway

October 28, 2009

My favorite pastor is giving away two copies of the book, "Adopted For Life," by Russell Moore. As you all know, adoption is near and dear to my heart, so it's my pleasure to pass this on. Head over to An Infant in a Cradle for all the details on how to enter.

One of the ways to enter in the give-away is to share a link to a new Reformed Praise hymn, called, "Though I was an Orphan," .....the other way to enter is to send a copy of the hymn to your pastor, but since my favorite pastor wrote the hymn, I have a feeling he already has a copy of it. *wink*....But I digress.....I highly encourage you to go to Reformed Praise to listen to the hymn, "Though I was Born an Orphan," and read the lyrics. You will be blessed!!

While you are there, check out the other hymns written by Eric Schumacher and David Ward.

Radical Woman conference audio available

October 24, 2009

The audio of Carolyn McCulley's conference that was held at my church last weekend, has been posted. I hope you will take the time to listen to her talks. They were very thought provoking and I was challenged to live radically as a woman and living by God's design.

Just a few (a lot) of pictures of what I have been up to....

I love this sweet baby blanket. I don't know who I am gong to give this to, yet. For now, I am enjoying looking at the bright colors.

The next two baby blankets are gifts for twin boys that will be coming into the world any day now.

I made the back of the quilts the same. Isn't it a fun fabric!!

This new quilt is my new cuddle-with-hubby-on-the-couch-on-cold-winter-days quilt. I wish you could feel the crisp smooth cotton. I LOVE this quilt...

I used a vintage cotton sheet for the backing. It's delicious!

The following quilt top is made 100% from my mom's fabric. It's a gift for a lovely young lady that my mom used to babysit for, who just so happens to be the daughter of my best friend, Laurie. I confess, I tear up looking at it. It's so my mom! I can't wait to get it finished.

This would be a cell phone purse for Laurie....

This cell phone purse belongs to my friend, Karyn. I forgot to take a picture of it after I added the vintage button.

I made a new ironing board cover out of a pillow case I found at Goodwill. I love the print and it makes me happy to just look at it.

This tote bag was made out of a curtain I found at Goodwill. I love this print. The rest of the fabric went to a little lady from my church who just decorated her room in lady bugs. I created two table toppers out of it. Cute and inexpensive!

One more tote bag...This one has Brooklyn's name on it. :o)
