Busy baby day

January 5, 2010

This morning, my dear friend, Amy and her 1 year old son, Timmy, came to my house to play. Amy is a doll!! I enjoy her company very much.

Shortly after Amy went home, Casey called and asked if she and Tobin (17 months) could come and play. Casey spent all afternoon with me. I spent most of our time together timing Casey's contractions. Maybe sometime tomorrow we will have a new baby to love up on! I am only slightly annoyed with the girl because she likes to wait until the birth to find out what they are having.  I'm all prepared with lots of blue and pink fabric begging to be made into a quilt for the new little one.

Thrift store fun

I love going to the thrift stores. While in VA, I had to check out one of the Goodwill stores in Charlottesville. I found  this lovely Williamsburg pottery that will find its home at my Laurie's.

I also found this lovely green bowl that matches my pink ones!

The darling glasses I found yesterday. We had harvest gold glasses like these when I was a growing up.

These were just too cute!! And at 38 cents a piece, I couldn't pass them up....

I've been wanting to find some way to store my fat quarters in such a way that I could see them. Isn't this cupboard perfect!

The things on top I found a long time ago. Yesterday they found a place to belong.

Today...I will start quilting my first project of 2010. It's a gift for Amanda.

Have a blessed day! Stay warm! :o)

Stupid cold

January 2, 2010

Actual temperature right now....

What it feels like with the wind chill....

Now that's stupid cold!!

After a week without sewing, I am going to dive in and begin my first quilt for 2010. Such lovely spring colors for a cold winters day. :o)
