I so love this quilt...
This baby will be warm and it's heavy! Not only did I use flannel for the backing, I doubled the cotton batting. It took forever to dry in the dryer.
I doubt I will double batting again in a quilt due to the cost, but I will say, I do like the definition the extra loft it gave this quilt.
I can check this quilt off of my list of "must make!"
Have a happy week, everyone!
It looks great! I have to finish three other quilts before I can finish my scrappy trip along. I like your borders too.
ReplyDeleteI'm so in love with your quilt!!!!!!! Great fabric.
ReplyDeleteLove it as always! Beautiful work Amy.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! I bet that it will be wonderful to snuggle with!
ReplyDeleteI love the border...I am considering using it in my quilt! Your quilt looks so soft I just want to touch it!
ReplyDeleteHi Amy, Is there any chance you would share your pattern? Where I could purchase it? I LOVE it. I am adding it to my "must make" list!
ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeous, Amy. I find the double batt thing very interesting. If I ever get a long arm machine, I have a few very high quality polyester batts left from my handquilting years, so I could then try one with my current favorite cotton batt to see if I like the difference in definition of the quilting.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors, fabric, and design of this quilt! You do such lovely work!
It's going to make such a lovely gift. The colors just seem to wash together in a calming way as I look at it.
ReplyDeleteQuilt PERFECTION!!! Love it LOTS. You did a great job!!! SEW adorable. XXX
ReplyDeleteNot only does it look so snuggly, but it sounds like it would be nice and cosy too!! A beautiful finish :)
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous Amy!!! ;) xo Heather
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt. The colors are so warm and happy, and the borders are yummy! Love the quilting too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I remember finishing my first quilt and thinking that it was so thin. I was expecting it to be fluffier! :) I might try double batting on one to see what it's like. But you are right-batting is so expensive. Did the extra layer cause more shifting or headaches during the quilting process?
ReplyDeleteAgain, it's a beauty. If you ever get tired of it, feel free to pass it my way! :) haha!!
Mmmm. Love that quilt! Love the colors! It's truly a happy feast for the eyes. :-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love it.
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful! The loft was immediately noticeable. Do you remember those fat poly batts that were so popular years ago? I made my daughter's baby quilt with one ~
