The Boy: Mom…That’s not a nice word!
Me: It’s not a curse word, so it’s okay if I use it and don’t correct me. I am the mom.
The Boy: &*%$@#@.
Me: I changed my mind, it is a bad word and we will not be using it in this house. Deal?
The Boy: DEAL!
You’ll know it’s a bad word when your child says it and you are ashamed that they heard it from you first.
Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.
Ephesians 4:29

Isn’t that the truth, Amy! Hearing ‘ourselves’ out of our children’s mouths is like holding a mirror up to our face. Sometimes we don’t like what we see!
That’s a very fitting scripture.

Isn’t that right? The Lord continues teaching us no matter what our age.
