Going down...making progress

January 10, 2013

The den before....

Sorry, dear, the deer have to go!

The beginning of my new sewing space.

I lost a closet in the move, so figuring out where to store my fabric is the big decision yet to be made. We are thinking about putting shelves above the pressing station and the cutting station.

I think it will work, though I had serious doubts yesterday.

Be back later!

  1. Amy, Love the pillowcase valances. Shelves are good, but I find I am constantly digging into them and then they have to be restacked. Hope you can find a system that works for you. Moving rooms around isn't fun. Chris

  4. I keep my fabric, sorted by type (kids' prints, vintage sheets, works-in-progress, etc.) in labeled plastic (clear) storage bins. That way I can move the bins into/out o closets and stacks quickly, with no fuss. (Believe me, my sewing station has moved around this house more times than I can count!)

  7. Looks great! Can't wait to hear what you decide on fabric storage. I've got to come up with something for my small, but growing stash. Am thinking about clear bins like another comment mentioned but haven't completely decided.

  9. If you put shelves up, put recessed lights under the shelves. We quilters can never have enough light. Looking good (bet those deer were yummy in their time, hmmm...deer chili).
