Hey!!! It's final above zero here, so I could get some semi decent pictures of Mitchell's denim quilt....3° actually feels warm! How crazy is that!
Here is the back...That would be Holden wearing his Wylie Coyote hat holding the quilt for me. =)
I put his initials on using frayed edge appliqué. Can you guess what gaming system he is obsessed with? That was his idea for me to put on the quilt. =)
He likes it and that makes this momma very happy....
They all have their moments when you still see the little kid in them. Glad you were able to get it done. Chris
ReplyDeleteLove your denim quilt! Like the colored geese too.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking of doing one for a step daughter. That's what she wants . She has been saving old blue jeans just for that.
ReplyDeleteSuch a clever use of materials, Amy, and a perfect boy quilt. How fabby that he helped design it with the Playstation buttons ... very special :)
ReplyDeletehe really makes it look cozy!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome blanket, you can see it's already loved! The back is as pretty as the front, too. Boy, nothing like a great denim quilt ~

ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky boy! You can feel the love that went into his quilt.
ReplyDeleteThey always look so sweet when they are asleep! Just steals Mama's breath away, doesn't it!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt! Happy, colorful and the perfect fabric for a rough and tumble guy! Love his suggestion for the game controller shapes!
Turned out fab, and the quilting is lovely on it. LOL his Wile E Coyote hat? Um the oldest grandson has a snake scarf that my MIL made for him with a matching hat.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Amy. I am picking up the flower quilt from the quilter today and will get the borders, etc. on. Can't wait to finish it and show you photos. Thanks for continuing to inspire.
ReplyDeleteBlessings on your "warmer" day.
Huh! I followed the flying geese link and that is pretty genius. Especially using it with cottons in a denim quilt because the cottons get effectively doubled, right? Mind blown. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThe perfect boy/young man quilt! I especially love the back...so strong and manly. And it looks so soft, too! Great job, Amy!
ReplyDeleteThat turned out great! Nice and heavy like you wanted. :)
ReplyDeleteHow terrific is that!!.....we are going to have rain tomorrow!!...hard to believe have 17 and frozne truck locks and blizzard....just this week? Right?...I think I have a case of exasperated cabin fever.....cure?....Calm yourself and Quilt On!!
ReplyDeleteThat is one happy Mitchell/sheep! Perfect for the guys in our lives!
ReplyDeleteGreat job, and, with the last picture, it shows it works well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea! I have a very sweet little guy who I would like to make a quilt for. I will put his name on it. cathy
