Vintage Table

September 19, 2011

I forgot to show you my new kitchen table that I am using in my sewing room.

How many of you grew up with one like it? I remember in the first house I lived in, our counters were gray and pink with boomerang designs.

We had a new baby girl born at our church, so I am trying to get this done for her. =)

However, I won't get to sew on it today. Instead, I am busy with my little guys.... =) There is a reason we have children when we are young. I am just sayin'! Whew...

  1. I remembers those tables, and had one, especially since I grew up in the 1950's~ I have a picture of me sitting at my table with a robe and curlers. Hope to find that picture and I'll have to post it! LOL

The little girl will be blessed with your quilt!

I'm loving that quilt! What a blessing for that little baby!
I'm loving your little guys! I don't have any grands (yet) - but I'm already thinking that I'm not going to be young enough to keep up!

  6. My grandmother had one like that one. Then the other grandma bought it at a sale. Looks like you need some more energy. The quilt is very nice. I am sure they will love it. Chris

  7. Your little guys are so cute! I've had two of those chrome table sets in my lifetime; one red with blue chairs and one green with green chairs. Thanks for the memories.

  8. what a great baby quilt....great colors for a little girl without being overly pink! that table is awesome. i am hoping to one day acquire a old door and some glass or plexi to make a table from...maybe held up by two cast iron singer peddle bases.....wouldn't that be great?

But what really hooked me is the tablerunner(?) with pockets!! What a "innovation" I love it ♥♥♥ And i guess i will copy it, if you don't mind, for my own sewingroom.

  14. Amy~
Very cute quilt. Love the colors. And that table! Reminds me of my grandmother's. I think hers might have been on the "yellow" side, but not quite sure. Vintage anything is very cool, these days!

  15. Our table had a huge leaf and was turquoise, but same pattern. I've considered getting a couple tables like that for our kitchen. The Amish area near us has a place they have lunches and sell the tables and chairs from that era that they use in the little diner area. Your men are GORGEOUS!

  17. Just found your blog. I had that same table in my house for the first 5 years or so I was married back in the mid 80's. I dug it out of an old chicken house and cleaned it up.

Love the pictures of the little guys, too. My little guys are all now in their 20s and have not yet given us another generation.

  18. Your table is much cuter than the one I grew up with. It was black in the center and really large. I think it is still in my brothers warehouse. It can stay there. I'd take yours instead.
