Welcome to all you UR Priceless Blog Hop hoppers! I am so glad you are here. =D
If this is your first visit to my blog, let me share a little bit about me and where I began my love of quilting.
My name is Amy and I am one of the sheep that Jesus died to redeem, thus I call myself a redeemed sheep. I am a 50 something stay at home wife and in the next couple of years we will be empty nesters. I love my kids, but I can't wait! =D
I began my love of quilting 5 years ago. Before my mom passed away, she told me she wanted me to have her sewing machine. A year after she died, the machine was delivered to my door and the learning began. The only time I had ever sewn was in high school for home ec and I was a miserable failure at it, so my learning curve was steep. I hit the internet and found a ton of bloggers that were more than willing to share their knowledge. They were my teachers and I am so very, very grateful. It didn't take long before I was totally hooked and there are no signs of stopping. =) I have since retired my mom's machine, and purchased a Juki 98Q quilting machine, which is my primary machine to sew with and I also own a Viking Platinum 770 for those times when I need more than a straight stitch. My hubby surprised me with a Nolting Fun Quilter longarm a couple of years ago. I haven't worked with it as much as I should to really learn how to use it well. I need to change that very soon. Of course there is more to me than quilting and if you want my life's story, feel free to poke around a bit. I hope you enjoy your stay. =)
Now on to the reason you are here!
As I am sitting here attempting to write an interesting post on my little coin purse, I realize I took
Zero...
Zip...
Nada...
Zilch...
Not one picture of the process of making my purse!
Yup, thats how I roll. I dive in and think only about the task at hand, giving no thought of what is up ahead.
Not only that, but I procrastinated until the last possible moment to make my coin purse. That is typical for me, too.
Is this not seriously cute?! |
I was a wee bit intimidated about making it, however, I had no reason to be. Once I sat down with the pattern and began, it went together very well. I love that it is fully lined (which I neglected to take a picture of).
I am seriously in love with my coin purse and I will be making more as gifts. =)
Pretty in my pink tree |
The supplies are simple.
You will need to purchase the PDF pattern here.
A bit of fusible fleece, a handle, some thread, all of which you can purchase @Quilt Taffy and, of course, fabric.
What do you think? Would you like to make one, too?
One commenter will win:
1- an UR Priceless coin purse PDF pattern (delivered via email)
2 - a coin purse handle (just like the one I used)
3 - And enough fusible fleece for your project.
To enter, simply leave a comment and it's open to anyone, anywhere. =) I won't complain if you decide to become a follower. ;-) That's it. I will pick a winner with Random.org on the last day of the hop, which is Nov. 13th.
If you are a no-reply blogger, please leave your email address in the comment so I can contact you.
Make sure you hop on over to rest of the blogs that are showing off their pretty coin purses today. I know I can't wait to see them. =)
