Organizing ie: avoidance...

April 16, 2012

Avoidance: I am avoiding quilting this quilt. It's a wedding gift for a young couple in my church. She is obsessed with lime green. It was her wedding colors. =) I don't know what I want to do yet.

Organizing: That is why I am busying myself with moving scraps from baggies, into plastic containers....

New Pantry

April 12, 2012

Rusty and I went junking on Good Friday. On a whim, we decided to pop into one of our local antique stores. Am I glad we did!

It was in the basement, just waiting for me to come and get it.

It's a little rough around the edges and could use a fresh coat of paint. Maybe someday, this one and the little yellow cabinet, can get a facelift.

In the meantime, I like it just the way it is. It's a perfect addition to my kitchen and a great piece for a pantry.

I'm linking up with Vintage Thingy Thursday.

Dolly quilt ready to go

I'm getting ready to pop it into the mail today.

Isn't the back wild?! I bought the scrap at a garage sale last year.

I see myself doing more stitching in the future. =) It's very relaxing.

Thank you all for your kind words. =D

Now to get back into the swing of things after losing two days because of a dumb migraine.

Dolly Quilt

April 11, 2012

Easter Sunday found me resting and working on this small quilt. It's my practice piece for hand quilting. The small quilt really had no purpose other than to just have fun with it...

That is until Jenna, my grand neice spied me sitting in the corner working on it.

Jenna is a shy little girl of 5 or 6 and only one of two girls in our family. My mother in law had to wait for great grandchildren to get her girls. =)

She sat up next to  me and asked me what I was doing. I explained I was doing some quilting on this small quilt. She asked me what it was for and I told her I didn't know...I asked her if she liked it and she said, "Oh, yes!" I asked her if she had any dollies that needed a blanket. She thought for a minute. She said, "I have some blankets, but I would like another one." I thought it was sweet she didn't want to lie and yet wanted to let me know she really wanted this one.

Of course I told her she could have it when I was finished with it.

A silly migraine this week has put me behind in getting it done, but I have made this a priority. We can't have Jenna's babies getting chilled now, could we?

With my Christmas money, I purchased a Barnett Laptop hoop. This is my first time using it. I L.O.V.E it! I bought the one with the sit on laptop base, but it comes off so it can be used with or without, depending on your needs. I am very pleased with my purchase and will use it for years to come. =)

I'm it...Times 2!

I am so bad at the tagging games that go around on the blogs. I have tagged twice in the last couple of weeks. As usual, I am behind...So I am going to totally break bend the rules and answer the same 11 questions for both tagging games. There is no way anyone wants to read 22 answers about me. =)

Thank you Karin @ Beary Quilts and Cheryl @ Teapots2Quilting, for tagging me. =)

There are 5 rules:

1. Post these rules.
2. Post a photo of you and 11 random things about you.
3. Answer the questions set for you in the original post.
4. Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them.
5. Go to their blog/twitter and tell them that you have tagged them.

Upgrading

April 3, 2012

I have decided, after months of studying and agonizing over whether or not to upgrade my computer from Snow Leopard to Lion, that I am going to bite the bullet and just do it.

Let hope it all goes well and I will be back soon!

Rawr!

Edit: Whoop! It's installed! Pain free. Whew...Now to learn the new this and that's.

Tuesday

I finished Haley's pillows this weekend. They are so fun and modern!

And I have the binding on the second scrappy baby quilt. Now I need to get to working on the hand quilting part of the two quilts....

A note on the word verification that blogger is using now:

Ugh...Sometimes I take time to answer emails and comment on blogs from my phone when I am riding in the car. The word verification doesn't work on my phone, which is so frustrating to me. I thought I would share that piece of information in case people didn't know. Also, there are times when typing in the crazy words gets so difficult to read on my computer, that I give up and don't leave a comment. =(

I wish they would have left well enough alone....

Have a great week!
