It all needs to be set aside for now. I have Christmas sewing to do first. =) I decided I really didn't like the quilt I made for my dad, so I am starting all over with a new pattern and new fabric. It will be much better. Pictures of it after Christmas. =)

I am trying Bloglovin' as my reader. If I have it figured out correctly, I will get an email when you all update your blogs. And that would be spectacular! First I need to "claim my blog" and i need to write a new post and do something code thingy to do that, thus, I am writing this silly little post to do that. =) 

I can't wait to show you my triangle quilt! I have it all finished...Tomorrow, maybe. =)

 The colors make me happy....

The points are far from perfect in some places, but it really doesn't matter. =) So all my newbie quilters, don't worry about perfect points. Do the best you can and keep on going. You learn with every quilt. My next one will be better. 

See? When looking at the big picture, you don't see the less than perfect points. =) 

I have  a plan for this quilt, but I have to keep it a secret for now. Shhhhhhh....

A pile of fabric, mostly Flea Market Fancy, but also some other fabrics from my stash were pulled to add to the mix. I have no idea how many I cut and how big the quilt will be. I'm not big on planning and math, you know, and if I need more I will cut more. =) 

I didn't do any big sale shopping over Thanksgiving. The only door buster thing I did do was on Wednesday at Joann Fabrics to get a 25 yard roll of batting by Pellon for $99. I was first in line. It was a good thing, too. The store only had 4 in stock. I was the youngest of the old quilting ladies in line, just sayin. I admit it was rather comical to see us "run" to the area where the batting was stored. I, however, did not run. I do have some sense of decorum, but I did walk very fast. ;-) 

Enough talking...The triangles are calling my name. =)

I have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and to honor all that God has blessed me with, I am passing on the blessings to those who have much less than I do. 

Five baby quilts (two are waiting in the wings to be quilted on the long arm) are going to find their way to Bridgehaven, a local pregnancy support center. 

A friend who asked to remain anonymous, donated some of the fabric used for the quilts, so it's a blessing from both of us...

It feels so right to pass the kindness on....

I have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and to honor all that God has blessed me with, I am passing on the blessings to those who have much less than I do.

For the last two days, I have been practicing on the long arm. It is long past time for me to learn to be friends with it or sell it. It's ridiculous for me to have an expensive piece of equipment just sit around and gather dust. On top of that I feel guilty every time I look at it!

Yesterday I gathered up my courage, loaded up a baby quilt and began to practice.

It did not go very well....

I was seeing good stitches mixed in with some terrible ones. 

I would get frustrated and have to walk away.

I would come back to pick out all the stitching and try again. 

There may or may not have been a few tears. 

Today I was going to give it one more last try and if it didn't go well, I was going to put it on Craigslist and get rid of it. 

And, it did not go well. 

Stick a fork in me, I was done.

When Russ got home from work, he asked me if I wouldn't mind helping him load up the frame with some scrap fabric so he could play with it. I got it loaded for him and threaded the machine while he studied the bobbin. He asked if he could tighten it. I was nervous, but told him it was okay. It already wasn't working right so it couldn't get worse. He gave it a slight twist and popped it into the machine. 

"Give it a try, hon, and let's see what happens."  

The clouds parted and the angels sang.....

It worked perfectly! I didn't have one single problem! 

The bobbin ran out and I put in a new one. 

Still no problems!

I reloaded the baby quilt and I finished the quilting I began yesterday.

I had zero problems with my long arm.

I do believe I will be keeping her after all....
